We collect our new to us van on thursday (so excited, first one)
We are looking to go away for 2 nights next weekend, not too far from doncaster, south yorkshire. We need it to be very child friendly with a good park? Our 7 year old daughter is a nightmare to keep entertained (head in ipad) ipad is NOT COMING WITH US!
can anyone recommend any sites? Really within a 2 hour drive.
We are members of the caravan club - is it me or are the cc sites aimed at people with no lchildren?

Should be a nice easy journey for you straight down the A1
Approx 40 Mins.
Beautiful site with a couple of playgrounds for the kids.
Shallow streams to wade in if the weather is good.
Snack van on-site and a good shop.
They do a weekend rate so you can stop from Friday midday trough to Sunday 7pm
It means you can pack up at your own leisure and not have a mad rush on Sunday morning.
First trip out is definitely a learning curve so treat it as such and expect the odd teething problem. I'd say somewhere not too far from home first time out, just in case you need to back for anything! And don't be afraid to ask other caravanners for help if you need it or can't remember how something works - we've all been there!
The awning, aka 'the divorce in a bag' - will take ages the first time, try your patience, and turn you to drink! Again, we've all been there and it gets much easier.
------------- Im no cactus expert, but I know a prick when I see one!
From what you say, try Poolsbrook Country Park Caravan Club site. The site is situated at the heart of the 165-acre Poolsbrook Country Park. It is near Chesterfield. Postcode is S43 3WL. M1 junction 29A.
