Okay hubby has come home and booked a week off work in aug. Looking to go to cornwall. Any tips for sites? Would love a swimming pool, good childrens playground, not too far from a beach?

We have just arrived today on a lovely site called river Valley holiday park. The pitches are huge, it has a god play park and an indoor swimming pool, we have paid 80.00 for 7 nights a bargain and I am sure it will be more in August but worth a look.

Try St Ives bay at Hayle theres a small pool, club, beach bar and conservatory area that serves food, very good, clean free showers, pitches arent bad sized, lidl is just down the road you are near st ives, st michaels mount, lands end , the lizard etc but best of all its on smack bang on the best beach in cornwall.

River Valley looks lovely, shame it doesnt rate so highly on Trip Adviser
Not sure which one is on trip advisor but there are 2 River Valleys in Cornwall. One near St Austell and another near Penzance. We have had no issues at all with the one nr St Austell/Pentewan

trip adviser is not all its cracked up, people have abused it by giving false representations, even to the point of giving feedback on places where they haven't even been,
like most things, someone will have a gripe about the least of things, turning it into the biggest mountain from a molehill...

We've looked at river valley on our way to pentewan sands and it does look stunning
But we go to pentewan sands as we love waking to the sound of the sea
It has it's own beach, beach bar, clubhouse, takeaway, small arcade,2 indoor pools, play area and also kayak hire very close to the village of pentewan and 5 mins from mevagissey
It does get busy in high season but the pitches are huge normally around 14x14 metres

We've stayed at River Valley 3 times in the last 4 years, we were in a static though. I personally wouldn't camp as all the pitches are hardstanding, all the facilities look great, I had a good look round every time we've stayed. The only real negative from me is the play area is a little small, it won't keep kids entertained for long, it's a minor gripe though.
I've chosen to go to Tregarton Park this year, I'm hoping I haven't made a mistake!
