Hi, been using this site a while but more of an observer. My OH and I are looking for somewhere for a week in June. Whilst he's an avid mountain and road cyclist, I am more of a beginner/casual biker.
We are essentially looking for somewhere on/close to an off road trail or route. Needs to be off road as our border collie enjoys a good bike ride too.
Last year we stayed at Gundrys Farm in Dorset which was located by a bridal path which led directly to a country park with ample bike trails... perfection and would go back if we can't find anywhere suitable but hoping maybe you guys could suggest something different for this year! Thanks in advance

Delamere C & CC site, right in Delamere forest with lots of bike/dog walking trails round the nearby lake and through the forest itself.
Manorafon Farm, Abergele - lovely site with good facilities (one of my favourites) and only a few minutes walk from Tesco and the town. A 5 minute drive to the beach with three free car parks and the North Wales Coastal Cycleway right there - takes you north as far as Point of Ayr and south to Penmaenmawr.
------------- Tigermouse
I have a very temperamental personality - 50% temper and 50% mental
Fforest fields have mountain bike trails starting right at the campsite,we are there at the moment and last weekend there was a womens mountain bike competition taking place, and its a really lovely place
When I lived in England, I used a site at Tissington (Peak district). Now I'm in Scotland and use the sites at Banchory & Ballater (beside Deeside way) and Aberlour or Granton-on-Spey (beside the Speyside way).
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.

I have just come back from Postern Hill at Marlborough in Wiltshire. It is on the edge of the Savernake Forest and a track for walking/cycling runs directly from the campsite through the forest.
