Well we're just back from Porth and loved it. What with easy access to the beach, walkable to Lusty Glaze (and in to Newquay itself), reasonable pub opposite and bus stop right outside (from where we went to Watergate Bay and Padstow. Not sure how big your tent is but there were a couple of decent sized ones there when we were there. Also our campervan has a large awning and we were on a Yellow Pitch which was ample so I wouldve thought a Blue Pitch would be fine for most tents. Saw signs to Watergate Bay camping and wouldnt mind trying it-we thought Hendra seemed a long way out, tho I know its huge and got lots of facilities if thats what youre looking for but in my opinion I dont think you'll beat Porth for location.
