We have some good walks around here as long or short as you would like. We have one of the biggest nature reserves not far from here. If you go into Saltfleet past the garage you will come to a bend with a pump station. Turn into the pump station and follow the small track, that will take you to paradise car park. This is either a beach/marsh walk or there is a public footpath through the dunes. The beach walk would take you to Mablethorpe approx 7 miles by beach. The other nature walk is if you continued past the pump station you would go on a tight right bend then a long straight on to another right bend, on that bend on the left there is an entry into Rimac. This has recently had a lot of work and money spent here, with paths laid and points of interest along the walks
At Donna Nook again you can walk for miles! Just be careful not to stray away from the coastline as the RAF do bomb here and when they do they are noisy! Donna Nook is located when leaving here you turn left onto Bank End stay on Bank End and take the first turning left it is then sign posted to the beach.
If you are wanting just a day lazing on the beach and a paddle in the sea there is no sea better than Mablethorpe, with its clear waters and the sea is never too far out. While there there are lots of indoor markets, gift shops etc. There is a chemist, large Co-Op and Lidel. Also a well equipped DIY shop. There is also in Mablethorpe along Quebec Road a Seal Sanctuary that has many seals that are being brought back to health before being released as well as lots of other animals.
Louth is about 10 mile drive away and is a old market town with quaint shops. Also in Louth is Hubbards Hills well worth a day out it has a café there and the walks are lovely with the stream going through the valley and then if you want the hill walk! If you go into Louth ask any of the locals they will tell you where to find this hidden gem!
While you are here at Lowis farm you might see our resident Great Spotted woodpecker and also the Buzzards! We have lots of wild life around here, Badgers and Deer just to be aware when driving around these parts at night as they do tend to get run over!
At Lowis Farm they are basic no showers one toilet, but the site is beautiful well kept also a fishing pond well stocked which you can pay to fish per day. The owner is all for wildlife and has a nature pond to keep this site well within in the ambiance that you feel as soon as you enter the site ...... and yes if you are lucky you might see the Roe deer or the badger and the owl that patrols the caravan site! it really is a tranquil delight
