Hi,

I'm new to the wesite, please be gentle. My wife andI used to enjoy camping when we first got together, but since getting married and having kids we just stopped. Now we are in a position to be able to buy a van and turn into a small camper (for the kids) and buy a drive away awning for the 2 adults.

My question is, where is good to take kids? I obviously want them to enjoy it so we can go again. We live in Northumberland and looking at driving no more than 3-4 hours. I've had a look at the interactive map and there are so many good looking campsites that I just can't make my mind up.

Ideally I'm looking for somewhere with an electric hook up, that will accept the van and awning, near some interesting things to do, that is child friendly. I'm out of the country till August as I'm in the forces, so looking at going away in September when I am back.

I'm sorry if this gets asked lots but I really want my girls to have a good time as I will have been away for quite a while and I want to spoil them.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking to day I should have given more info.

My girls will be 5 and almost 4 when I get back to the UK. Both are girlie girls but enjoy open spaces, running around and play areas.

Oh and good suggestion only going an hour away, I hadn't even considered that.

It certainly does. I've looked at the website, looks really nice, very resonably priced and I think the Cocoa Bean Factory will sell it as far as my girls are involved.
