Would like to visit Deers Glade Norfolk. Could anyone advise on journey from Bradford West Yorks please. How long it takes? Best Route? etc... only our second season with caravan and haven't done anything more than 2 hour trips up to now. Thanks in advance.

Just get on the A1 south till Newark then head to Sleaford A17 to Kings Lynn then either take the A148 to Cromer then head inland b1436 towards Roughton then A140 towards Aylsham, OR head to Norwich on the A47 ,A1074 and follow signs to Norwich Airport / Cromer A140 the turning for Deers Glade is near Alby just before Roughton

first route is around 175 miles so probably around 3 .5 - 4 hours solo, bit longer depending on traffic and allowing a bit for towing etc, The first route might be a bit shorter but If not familiar with the area I would be tempted to use the second one as this is pretty easy to follow and all good roads, some of the other route is on pretty narrow roads from Holt onwards. By the way once at the site if you want a nice pub with exceptional food try The Crown at Banningham

Don't bank on getting through Kings Lynn very fast at the moment they have ongoing roads works until 14th of August so it can be slow going at times with no realistic way of avoiding it delays of up to half an hour or so.
   
Myself I would use the first route a much more relaxing route and far less accidents on that route.

Hi we live in Bradford and have done the trip to deers glade for the last fours years. we always print off a route from the AA route planner (OH won,t get a SAT Nav) it is I think the same route as the first route above. We have a trailer and depending on traffic it can take from 4 to 5 hours.
If you not been to Deers glade you will love it one of my favorite sites.

Thanks for all the advice folks its really helpful. Not going until 16th August so hopefully roadworks gone by then…not holding my breath though! If there are any other sites around same area that can be recommended that would be great also, seeing as i've left this late. Only me OH and 11 year old daughter who's mad on horse riding.

I think you may not get in at deers glade we go at spring bank and always book a year in advance. Manor farm has a good reputation but never been.

They have now opened another site nearby called Deers Mead so might give a bit more chance of getting booked in, there are actually loads of sites in the area including plenty of CL / CS sites.

Rang Deers Glade today and they're full. I was expecting it to be honest, especially as our week includes a bank holiday. So.....i rang The Old Brick Kilns site and 'result'...one week booked. Yippee! Has anyone else been to this site? Reviews sound good.

A good stop-off point is either the Cosy Cafe between Cranwell and Sleaford which has a large car park or another at Heckington. Both on the left and ample room for turning.
