We were just considering if £10 a night was a good deal think we will snap that up pretty quick ! only £6 for a non electric pitch suddenly sounds worth it too ! No frills of course but closer to the sort of camping we love.

Cor blimey!!

makes our £16 per night (£18 in peak periods!) 2 adults, ehu, dog and awning look really good...

Waxham sands includes... 3 toilet blocks 2 shower blocks sea, sand dunes NO road noise just the wind and the waves... aaahhh can't wait.

Why do some camp site owners in the UK seem to epitomize the seedier darker greedy side of human nature.

Screw em until the pips squeak... "the idiots will keep coming back"

Just a thought... Why don't we have municipal sites here? Space? Could be an earner for councils?

There are some municipal sites or certainly were a few years ago we stayed on a few over the years, usually full of people using them to live near their work though so lots of early morning alarms going off and people getting ready for work in the loo blocks.

Total robbery ,I wouldn't even think about it ,you take fuel, parking while in area ,food etc into consideration and it's cheaper to fly off on a all inclusive and guarantee the weather .i

Just looked at a possible site Tristram in Polzeath Cornwall they only want £455 per week... OMG

Wow and I thought midweek discount at caravan club sites in winter was expensive!!

We're mainly weekend campers and because of price increases there are certain places we can only afford during off peak or when special offers are on. Wish we could camp as much as we used to but simply can't afford it as often anymore.

You are purely paying for location there. The site offers no facilities (pool, entertainment, games room etc) and I agree is a total rip off. We go there most weekends to surf but only park in the adjacent car park (and that's not cheap either!).
The location is stunning though, falling asleep next to the crashing of the breaking waves...bliss.

The costs will only fall if the park is empty. They could be busy at that price and just wait for the pitch to fill up at the full price.

I don't think we would dare even think of trying to charge some of the figures quoted on here!!

Do take tents and if so how much please?

Prices have gone silly over the past few years.

Doesnt seem that long ago when we went to Perran Sands in Cornwall for £113 for a week. Although it may have been 10 years or so.

But keeping it down to £20 ish a night got harder. And sites started saying Sat - Sat only. After it took my mate 9 hours to travel down yet i flew down the Sunday morning with virtually no traffic i refuse to go on a Saturday.

Last year was our 1st THS with the CCC and it cost under £20 a night in Cornwall, A few miles from Padstow.

Small pool, Bar. No EHU though. But no booking needed.

Looking on the east coast this time. Because of family issues we wont be able to book. It will be quick throw some stuff in teh van and go quickly.

Coming in at less than £100 for a week.

I presume the CC have similar sites?

Its not though. Most sites we use here and abroad have fixed prices for year ahead

£470 for a weeks tent camping is profiteering pure and simple

We are paying £450 for two weeks with 2a2c on fully serviced pitch with 5* facilities includng free tennis, play areas, football, pony ride, mountain biking tours, free local transport, spa on site, indoor and outdoor pools etc etc

Price is same now for August as was when we booked in January (not that you would get in now)

This is in Black Forest rather than rip off Cornwall, shows difference in attitudes within a tourist hotspot (both areas get millions of visitors a year)
