Hi, I've had a search but wanted to see if there are any campsite owners out there that can reply before I go ringing round.

I am looking for a campsite:

*doesnt have to have wedding licence
*in the south west - somerset, Devon, wiltshire, Dorset areas
* has no more than around 30 pitches and allow for just our wedding party to fill all these pitches privately
* allowed to be hired just like normal (guests will be paying for their own pitches) so preferably no 'hire fee' as such
*half decent childrens playground
*preferably an on site b&b accomodation or lodges - or some very close by (for elderly relatives)
*has space and would allow for the marquee
*allow a hog roast
*from a Friday to Sunday (2 nights) sometime summer next year
* camp fire(s) would be a bonus
*mostly tents, maybe 1 trailer tent and 1 caravan
*must have some ELH

I've seen a few specific campsites used for events - but my aim is 'camping with a wedding' rather than a 'wedding with camping' if that makes sense. It's a very relaxed casual affair.

Congratulation's. I cant tell you about any sites but think it sounds truly amazing. My friends did this last year in Ashbourne (up North) we had an amazing weekend.

find a camp/ caravan site that has a rally field most owners hire out to your rally or club exclusively for 2/4 days some fields even have there own toilets etc.

I agree with the above about rally field. That might be a better option as I can't see a campsite allowing you to just book 2 nights in high season at standard campsite pitch prices. Most down here have minimum stays in summer season.

Try looking at the rural sites (maybe farm owned) and send off emails about hiring a rally field - they can only say no!

Poop.. we had our wedding reception in a field last year, and we could have camped for £10 a night, but there's no electricity 😖

Ahhh thanks anyway. I personally don't need it, but I am potentially inviting some 'non campers' and I think basic camping would put them off a bit lol, at least if they know they're gonna have electric they may seem more 'up for it' x

Sounds a good idea!!

 Why not rent a big industrial genny and leads, for a weekend. All could use (caterer,band-DJ, etc.etc.) if big enough.

Just a thought, maybe look at a small pub with letting rooms, with adjoining field also.

Outside of your stated region, but a friend had her wedding at Hillend, near Oxford, would suit your purpose well, yurts/lodges etc for non campers, also group type kitchens for catering and they have a wedding license too.
