I am preparing a tour in south west (from London to Land's End, more or less), visiting New Forest, the Durdle Door, the Cerne Abbas Giant, Exeter, Eden Project, The Merry Maidens, Land's End, Arthur's castle at Tintagel, the Coleridge Cottage, Glastonbury Abbey, Wells, Bath, Cheddar Gorge, Avebury, Stonehenge, Salisbury and Winchester.
is welcome any advice and suggestions, especially if they are based on personal experiences.
Here below an (incomplete) list of questions:
1) Has anyone ever taken the train (in England) charging the bike? I know that reservation is required, but I did not understand whether it is mandatory and what time period must be made.
2) Do you have walked the bike paths British? Are country roads or well-maintained bicycle paths? The gravel stretches are well pedalable?
3) you can enjoy free camping?
4) I would like as much as possible along coastal roads. I'm afraid that because of the very steep cliffs on the streets hasten far away from the coast (at least it seems so from the map). There are scenic stretches or otherwise should go into the picturesque hinterland with its moors?
5) are certainly very rainy regions: in late spring rains are light, continuous or intense and short? There is a lot of wind?
