i had to cancel three bookings recently due to a family bereavement...two small indies were fine and told me they would keep the money i had already paid towards a future booking ..the c&cc told me hard luck you've lost your money

we have failed to turn up at a site that we had fully paid for
The only reason we found out was whe the site rang us .
The reason we failed to show ? Id forgotten that I'd booked it and had booked somewhere else ( yes I really am that dim !!)

I totally agree that not letting site owners know that your not able to make a booked pitch but if site owners stipulated in a booking that if you are a no show by a certain time that you forfeit your booking unless there is space. May be Site owners could contact the person to see if they are attending that way if you have some one who wants the booked plot you may have your answer
