Cornwall as been my favourite place to visit all my life, we have just returned from visiting Wales, we were in Porthmadog, last year we went to Carmarthen, it really is beautiful wherever you look, If you like beautiful scenery or walking its really got it all, although I still love Cornwall I now have a new favourite

The area around Abersoch and the Llyn peninsular are the best places in North Wales for me, and very easy to get to from the North West
My second choice after Cornwall
We are in Pembrokeshire just now, it's lovely, helped by the weather of course. We also love Anglesey. There are great places in Cornwall but it's overcrowded compared to Wales (and more expensive).
Another thumbs up for wales. Pembrokeshire is just as lovely as Cornwall, but without the crowds! Presently sat outside the caravan with stunning views over Cardigan Bay. Only 4 other vans and one tent on our site.

We only have 1 other van on this CL! not yet on UKCS (I have added it). £9 per night or 7 nights for the price of 6, it's a lot better than some we have stayed at that cost a lot more. No sea views but the nearest beach is 2 miles away, Haverfordwest for supplies about 4 miles.
Abersoch area is the cornwall for northerners! Just the same scenery great beaches and not as far to travel! My dad sussed this out 40 odd yrs ago and the whole family still goes there, infact my mum & dad still go in the caravan even though he's 84! But someone now tows it for him!
We live in Cornwall and love staying in Wales - best of both worlds?!?!?

I love wales of course being welsh . But I also love Cornwall and yes it's crowded but there are so many places to go and so many things to see and do.
If you want more remote and quiet go to wales .we are going to north wales in two weeks time . But I am also missing Cornwall.
Another vote for N.Wales. We're not long back from 9 days staying at Cae Du campsite at Beddgelert. Handy for Snowdon and Llyn Peninsula and a lovely, quiet friendly place. Two years ago we had a couple of separate weeks at Nant Bychan campsite, Moelfre, Anglesey. We discovered lots of quiet, beautiful beaches, plentiful wildlife and wonderful scenery.
Wales has loads and is under rated. You have the Gower with great beaches, park your car and walk to Three Cliffs bay (there's a caravan site over looking it http://www.threecliffsbay.com/) bit of a walk but well worth it. Go to Port Eyenon, another great beach and camp site. Then there's Pembrey with the CC site. You have a great park for the kids with walking and cycling and another nice beach. You also have the dry ski slope and the miniture railway and the coastal path which is great for cycling in either direction. Pembrokeshire has a lot going for it too. Go around the Welsh coast and visit the castles. Something for everyone I think and as stated, not over crowded and cheaper than Cornwall and a lot of other places. Maybe i should work for the Welsh Tourist Board.
