Hi. My partner and I would like to find a quiet, pretty basic campsite, with fairly secluded pitches, but with hookups and showers. We don't need much else (apart from elsan disposal preferably)
We'd like to completely get away from it all, would prefer to be near water or the sea, but it's not essential. We don't get the chance to get away much, so aren't able to try out loads to see where these sites are.
We're based in Northamptonshire, but are interested in anywhere really (local suggestions are good though)
We're looking for low cost peace and quiet.
Please can anyone come up with some suggestions please?
Thanks in advance :)
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
One of my favourite sites is Bridge House at Lechlade on the Gloucestershire/Wiltshire border. It is a basic flat site within 10 minutes walk of the town but usually fairly quiet. A few yards from the River Thames with quiet walks in both directions. There is little information on here apart from reviews but check out their website for more details.
I think it would be helpful if there was some sort of filter for this option in the search function. It is very much horses for courses, but we really value being able to go to a campsite that is quiet and has plenty of space and privacy between pitches.
We live in a suburban environment and when we camp the last thing we want to do is go to a tented version of the same. In fact, we would be prepared to pay a premium for this rather than additional facilities.
One problem I now have is that I need to use a CPAP machine when I sleep so for anything more than a couple of nights we will need an EHU. The combination of isolation and EHU I suspect is going to be a tricky one.
