We usually visit Felixstowe (Peewit site) at least once a year but thought we might like to go to Clacton for a change as it's almost the same route for us from Norwich. Can any one recommend a nice quiet site in the area?
Thanks.

To be honest you will be pushed to find a quiet site in Clacton depending of when your thinking of going Highfield might be ok but not in school holiday time as Naze marine at Walton both are owned by park resorts Hutleys at st oysth about 3 miles from Clacton is one we use a couple of times a year but shower block is poor but it is right on the beach and is £19 a nite

agree with paul12,
there is also dover court caravan park, has pool, club house etc and is quite, high fields is about the best in Clacton, Walton ( naze marine is better early season or after September onwards)is also a very good site, but can be full of kids, went a couple of weeks ago and it was full of travellers, but no trouble, peewit is a very good site, but I take my grand daughter (of 5) and the walk to find any form of life is a little too far for her,

Homestead Lake is a nice site. Few miles outside of Clacton. Ideal for fishing or a quiet break. Not much for kids.

I live in Brightlingsea too :) Theres an outdoor pool, a big park, skate park and playing field in easy walking distance (literally 2 mins walk along the road)

Plenty of cafes for an ice cream and the beach has a man made paddling pool area, it's tide filled so it's never deeper than knee high. Blue flag and very very safe.

The camp site is next to the boating lake (fenced off) and basic but always seems to fairly busy through school holidays.

Brightlingsea itself has a small town centre with plenty of shops, theres also the marina and floating jetty which is good for crabbing.

Lots and lots of families holidays here :)

Brightlingsea sounds nice, might try it. Dont want lots to do just somewhere quiet near the sea if poss. We've a good site here in Norfolk. overlooking the sea, some pitches are a bit sloping so need a levelling block. nice and quiet and views to die for. shops within walking distance too. no tents though. Thanks for your reply Lauren and Jayc.
