This place has a wonderful ghyll running up to the top of the fell, and a tarn on the top. Varying size, depth etc. of pool.
The campsite is very basic, but is right next door to an Inn, as well as being in reach of Windermere/Bowness/Langdale.

There's a site at Glenridding that has a little beck running alongside it. It was lovely at night, listening to the sound of the water rattling over the stones.
There's a footpath down to the village shop, a nice pub just the other side of the beck, and Ullswater just across the road from the shop. Great views of Helvellyn, too.
It's not a small site though. They have a bunkhouse, a field for tents and a separate field for motorhomes/caravans.
ETA: it's called Gillside Farm, and there are loads of reviews on here.
