As a resident of North Wales I'd say the best time to visit the area would in May as it seems to be one of the better months for good weather, although obviously there's no guarantee on good weather.

I agree that May is a lovely time to go, and from the last two years, the hottest months have been June & July.....
The British weather is so unpredictable though - it keep us all guessing and the long range weather forecasts tend to be as useful as a chocolate teapot!! lol
I suggest you pick a park that has plenty of things to do for all the family, regardless of the weather, and in an area that also has plenty going on too.

We've not been to N. Wales before and looking at Manorafon as it looks nice and has good reviews.
Thanks
Manorafon Farm is lovely and one of my favourites, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. If you have a dog then there's good traffic-free dog walking straight from the site entrance up to the old castle and beyond, and Tesco and the town centre is only a few minutes walk away too.

We've done all parts of Wales every May for the last 2 or 3 years and been very lucky with the weather.
Love North Wales (especially Barmouth) and hoping to go back next year (although it won't be May as we've already booked to go to the Lakes!). If, like us, you fancy a stop on the way up/back from the West Country we would highly recommend Elan Oaks (Elan Valley, mid Wales) or the Pandy CC site (near Abergavenny) both excellent sites.

Hi Kernow Camper
Good to hear that May's a good month to go. Make sure you order some good weather for us!
North Wales has been one of those places where I keep saying "it'll be this year" but then find it's not on the list. Although, we did finally get to Mull this year and that really was worth the wait!

Just got back from Conwy and had a lovely time, we took a tram up The Great Orme and walked along the longest pier in Llandudno, visited Beaumaris and Caernarfon, sat on the quayside in Conwy, had fish and chips in Betws-y-Coed and a picnic by the lake in Llanberris. The weather forecast kept saying rain, rain and more rain but to be honest we had rain last Sunday which was forecast to be our sunniest and driest day and although the tent was wet as we packed up on Monday we didnt get half as much as expected and didn't get rained on whilst striking.
Take a chance and get it booked, would much rather enjoy North Wales in the rain than not at all, can't wait to go back again, one thing to look forward to over the long dark winter nights is planning for next year : )

It wouldn't be a proper camping year for us without a Wales trip! It'll probably be July next year (for a change!) so lets see what we get then!!
Oh wow, would love to do Mull. OH & I both have BIG birthdays in 2016 and we're currently planning 3-4 weeks 'doing' Scotland so maybe we'll do Mull then???
Here's hoping! Kernow Camper

Kernow Camper - it was an early BIG birthday holiday for hubby We went during the first 2 weeks in June so we could see some of the amazing wildlife on Mull (it wouldn't have been quite the same in December when his actual birthday is!)
We plan to return in 2016 so who knows ... our paths may cross ....
There is a thread on Mull with some great info provided mainly by FickleJade who lives on Mull - you may find it useful. We certainly did
Hiya Mrs E
We're planning possibly May for when we do Scotland just after our BIG birthdays!!!
Will check out all the threads, photos, etc., during my planning process that will kick off very soon!
Cheers and see you there!!!
