Haven't stayed at St Ives bay since I was a kid, but can certainly vouch for the beach and area. Lovely long sandy beach. Great for surfing. We stayed at Godrevy CC this year and know that Gwithian Farm has good reviews.

we stayed for a week this year at St Ives bay in one of their vans and were very disappointed. We had a wander around the tent fields and the one things we saw was that everyone was very hemmed in, pratically on top of each other and very small pitches. We tried to eat at the bay bistro twice and gave up as never any seats, massive groups had pulled tables together and were sat there for the night
Hi!
Have a look at monkey tree Holiday park.
It's just down the road from trevornick.
We paid £500 this year for 2 weeks, family of 4.
They've kept the prices the same for next year and as a added incentive this year they were even offering £100 worth of restaurant vouches to guests that booked for next year before they left which we did.
Having stayed at trevornick a couple years ago I can tell you that monkey trees pitches are much bigger with the smallest being 11mx10m.
Cheers! John

When our kids were younger and we needed sites with swimming pools, arcades and a club house we stopped at trevornick for 3 years on the trot (2005 to 2007).
The prices kept on creeping up so we looked for an alternative and used Monkey Tree in 2008.
The pitches were huge, and even back then we save a few hundred on the pitch fee alone.
We stayed in August at St Ives Bay and thought it was fantastic - perfect for us (2 adults and 2 kids aged 9 & 7). Pitches were a great size, shop was very good and very reasonably priced, swimming pool was ok, busy but fine, food was good in the restaurant next to the pool, its right on its own beach which is amazing. The show bar was packed on bingo nights so we avoided until after bingo, loads for kids to do and all free on a night. We are looking to go again but the only problem for us is the only booking Saturday to Saturday. All in all we had a fantastic holiday.
I'll have a look at Monkey Tree though, sounds good from the reviews.
