We are visiting friends next month and would like to stay as close to them as possible, I've looked at several sites through the searches, Oxen hall, Roden Nursery look nice but are there any more you could recommend, hard standing pitches would be better but not sensual. Thank you.

Hi
I would prefer oxon, especially in the winter, roden is pretty bleak and pretty much like the previous post describes. I understand there are caravan pitches at salop leisure, and there is a site behind a pub in Montgomery sorry I can't remember the name but if you do a post code search for Sy1 you should find it. It depends how far out of shrewsbury you were thinking of - the same distance as roden but the other way down the A49 there are a couple of sites, again sorry you'll need to look on the search.
------------- 2014 - 15 trips
2015
Jan - betws y coed
Salop over looks the storage from oneside though should have nice views from the other side quite expensive for what is there though imo may be issues with the gate so if you want to come and go early or late check before you book

We stayed on Roden for a couple of nights and it's OK but nothing special. Ebury Hill C&CC site closes on Nov 3rd. I don't think Haughmond Farm has hard standings and is a CCmembers only. Beaconsfield is VERY expensive. Oxen Hall is way on the other side of Shrewsbury. Depends where you are visiting. Salop Caravans are fairly central. At least they would be handy for spares and they have a nice cafe.
Emstery island on the A5 next to Salop Caravans is currently under going major roadworks, there have been complaints about the level of noise as the works are being done at night, might be something to consider.
There is a site at the Wingfield Arms, Montford Bridge, only a short drive from Shrewsbury.
Westerly House near Minsterly, it is adult only, again a short drive away.
