Have you checked out the site search on this site?
You can narrow it down to sites open all year in Scotland and it will also show you the regions.

Any site that is "open all year" will be motorhome friendly.

As are the Natives.

From a friendly West Coast Scot.

Not the best time for the west coast, although there won't be any midgies. The west coast is pretty long, so what part specifically? For Ayrshire, try "the Ranch" CC site at Maybole.
If you had wanted the N.E. , I could have recommended a great site.

Hi thank you for your responses we had already tried a number of site finder websites but there seems to be a shortage of sites that accept Motor homes on the west coast. Only having had our motor home two weeks we are keen to enjoy it before the winter sets in. We will start at the Strathclyde site and head North and explore over the course of a week. Next year the world.
Thanks
Timvan

Okay. I live on the west coast of Scotland and we have, in the past, had 2 motorhomes.

Both of these we used mainly for wildcamping in Scotland although we did also use them on sites.

During the winter months, be aware of the low rising and setting sun and try to do your driving between 10am and 4pm. Earlier and later you can get the full sun in your eyes.

Many modern roads in Scotland cut straight through the landscape leaving pockets of old, meandering road, still with good surfaces, but away from the main roads and ideal for overnight stops.

Also, during the winter we tended to use "club" sites as these are usually better set out for winter use.

Sango Sands by Durness is a spectacular site.

See the below quote from their website:

"Free camping! Come and use the site for free off season - November to March - toilets open but cold water only - no showers - £7 if you need electricity."

It is very MH friendly with a 'drive over' grey water disposal site.

Just been away for a week to escape our Ayrshire rain. It's dark by 5 pm, it'll be 3 pm come mid December, so it'll be 4 pm for your journey north. While that gives great scope for star gazing or looking out for Northern Lights (if it's dry), we take the radio, plenty of books and board games to fill the evening as we don't have room for a TV in our MH. I hope you enjoy your travels (personally, not smitten by the Strathclyde site, it's right by a M-way and surrounded by towns that I always get lost in, but others recommend it), but do please come back north in mid-summer - to west east or north coast or all three! - and enjoy our equally long days, when you can read outside your MH all night if you want to in the "simmer dim". And I agree with a map search ticked on "open all year".
