Can anyone please suggest some good motorhome campsites with fishing ( either lakes or river / canals ), if the fishing is free, then all the better, We are not serious anglers, so it doesn't have to be of competition standards..Thank you.

Cofton near Dawlish has very good fishing ponds and you can pitch nearby.
Expensive site at peak times but if you can go other times I will be cheaper.
As far as I know you have to pay for fishing but the site has good amenities, all depends on budget.

Thank you for your suggestions. We have been to Wyton lakes, and loved it, and will use again. As for the others, we will definitely look into them so thank you all once again...

If you're C & CC members then Willow Lakes in NE Lincolnshire is a good one. Set in extensive land with equestrian facilities there's a small fishing lake right at the end of the site with a much larger lake a few hundred yards down the track. They also have self catering holiday cottages overlooking the small lake and log cabins by the big lake. Afaik fishing is free for anyone staying there.
Also Skipworth Arms, about 7 miles from Market Rasen. Small private site with fishing lake behind a pub which does decent meals at reasonable prices.
It's nice to know you like Wyton Lakes, I don't fish but I've been there a few times and love it.

Steadings Park campsite near Woodbridge in Suffolk now has onsite fishing but also is situated only 1.5 miles away from the river Deben and 6 miles from the coast for fishing.
Tigermouse. We are not members of any club, but thank you for your help. You never know , we might bump into each other at Wyton lakes one day, as we will be going there a few times this year. .
Debjon, that site looks nice , and it is not too far for us , thank you

Just thought of another one in NE Lincs - Pigeon Cottage at North Somercoates. Level site run by a lovely young couple, pitches with and without ehu, dogs welcome, two large fishing lakes and food can be ordered and delivered right to your peg.
