Hi everyone. Myself, Hubby and the dog normally camp in the New Forest on a campsite that has no amenities whatsoever because that's the way we like it. We want to camp this year but we are looking to try somewhere else altogether. Just wondering if anybody could recommend a campsite in England that is extremely basic? We have a chemical toilet so don't need toilets, we're not bothered about camp shops or swimming pools or anything else. I've not found anywhere online. Many thanks :)

I take it you're not members of the Camping and Caravanning Club or you would no doubt be aware of Certificated Sites, many of which are quite basic. (Search for Club CL/CS on the Camp Site Search map and ignore any Caravan Club Certificated Locations).
There's even an own san(itation) ess(ential) Club Site nearer to you than the New Forest, at Slindon.
Thanks Hacksaw Bob. Your answer is much appreciated. As you guessed, we are not members of the Camping and Caravanning Club so wouldn't have known anything about the certificated sites but I will checking it out now. Thanks again
If you do decide to join, you'll also be able to use Temporary Holiday Sites organised by various groups within the C&CC, some very basic, others less so, but all good value for money.
