Have a look at this one near Rosslare (so convenient if you're sailing from West Wales?).
Or perhaps one of the sites on this list, which you may have already seen of course, might meet your requirements.

Wave Crest, Co. Kerry is great if you get good weather, it's a bit out of the way (but on the Ring of Kerry), and I believe is now an ACSI site, but as I assume you are going in the school holidays, you would have to pay full price. Still worth it imo.
There is a cheapish (or used to be site) in Co. Mayo, Croagh Patrick, under the mountain of the same name, which has lovely beaches nearby, again, you need the weather.

You can't beat Mannix Point, it's right on the coast (as is Wave Crest) but Mannix Point has great facilities and the guy that runs it, Mortimer,is a real gem and would move heaven and earth to help you. There are so many 'returnees' on site you will realise that there's a reason why they go year after year. There's a facebook group called Friends of Mannix Point which should have some good info. I have a trip report on Mannix here
Mannix Point
Wave Crest is great too, they are only about 20km or so apart. The best beach (in my opinion in the world) is near Wave Crest at Derrybane House.

Think you might have a bit of a wait for a Swansea-Cork ferry!

Eagle point, West cork

Eagle Point
The reviews are accurate and, don't worry, even though there isn't a shop on site, there is one at the gates.

Thanks for the info guys! Quite a few nice ones there and has definately helped my search. Particuarly liked Mannix Point, yes. Some of the prices I thought were quite steep. 25-28 euros a night and on some of them that was just for the tent. I'm sure it's probably worth the price though. Also i believe ireland is quite expensive for holiday / live in anyway, right? Yes I will be sailing via west wales. Can't decide whether via swansea or pembroke yet. Lots to think on, any more idea's are greatfully appreciated. :-)
I found the Ring of Kerry quite expensive generally, it's sort of out on it's own on a penninsula and it's very dependent on tourism and so it is dear. I found that less out of the way places which have a big supermarket tend to be so much cheaper. In particular, Aldi drives down local grocery prices. There's one in Tralee, but then it's not as nice as the Ring of Kerry.

Eagle Point is great too, but when I priced it up last year it was the most expensive i'd come across at €35 a night for a tent.

Dingle area is lovely too, not sure if prices are any cheaper though. There are several sites around Dingle Town.

Have a look at Actons Eco Camping in Connemara too. It is quite pricey as well and I haven't personally been but it is right on a private beach owned by the campsite and the location is heavenly. I plan to go there this year as part of my road trip where I am hoping to get down the west coast of Ireland again. I'm starting off in Sligo Strand Hill, then Actons Eco, then possibly Mannix Point before going East to The Apple in Tipperary.

Westport House was an ouchy €35 a good few years ago. That's why we ended up at Croagh Patrick.

Hi Marty633,

Hi a danielvanc. A nice campsite is Garretstown house near Kinsale.
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=14089
Good site for kids as at night they normally have a film or a disco or bingo. It is 1 mile from 2 great beaches and close to Kinsale which is a famous town.
Another site is Woodlands Camping Tralee. Good facilities close the Tralee town and also a good Swimming pool.
If you are going up around Co Clare I would recommend Doolin to stay. There are 2 greet campsites here,
O Connors
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=9424
and Nagles
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=8915
You can pitch in ant of these campsites, then take the ferry to the Aran Islands for the day then back to the Pubs in Doolin for the night's crack
------------- Happy Camping
Andrew.
