Please can anyone help? I have spent the whole of the half term scouring the seasonal pitch listings and getting nowhere. I need a site no more than 1 hour from Bolton. It needs to be very scenic, peaceful with good dog walks immediately off the site. Ideally, with a pub in walking distance for the occasional pub meal.I have a double axle caravan and I just cant find anywhere. Apparently half of the North West population want the same thing.
I have travelled all over this half term and found a nice one in morecambe (right next to the main train line, no thanks!) A beautiful one in Saddleworth but it is too windy to be able to leave an awning up, and various not very nice ones at all which store old buses and all sorts of eyesores!
Getting desperate. I had a beautiful pitch in Whitchurch on Mile Bank Farm but had to give it up as it was just too far to get to from here when I moved jobs. I can only escape at short notice and often only have 24 hours to get a break. Any suggestions, anyone?

Hi, I am in the same boat, been looking for 12 months. Every site I have found that I like is adult only or way out of my price list. Retired 12 months ago and decided to try and find a site within 80 miles of Preston. Fishing would be a bonus. I have two grandchildren who like a couple of weeks a year with us so adult only is a no no.
