Oh dear sorry to hear about that tencreek place. I stayed in a camp site on lake madine near Metz France, only for one night luckily. It was a stop on a motorbike trip. It was called camp nonsard. The site was dreadful. But most notably drunk noisy German teenagers with booming car stereos all night, scores of abandoned seasonal pitch caravans some broken into and trashed. Tents abandoned with grass growing round them and what looked like a refugee camp set up around the shower block. The occupants of which had commandeered the men's shower room and set up a fridge in there. They barred my access and insisted I used the ladies showers.
However, have just returned from the parbola holiday park in gwinear near hayle. The site was majority tents but there were plenty if touring pitches. It was a little old fashioned but the toilets and showers were kept clean and fairly modern. The site was large enough that there was plenty of space between pitches and hedgerows to keep privacy and give the feeling that you were not on such a huge site. If was very peaceful and quiet. So I should go back there. I worried about having to drive to the beach but parking at hayle beach is cheap and the evening peace and quiet was a good trade off. There were a load of old statics there that let the side down but they couldn't be seen from the touring pitches. From what I could see they were unused so I would suggest the owners removed them and either replace them or make hard standing serviced pitches on the bases.
