We are planning a tour of Scotland May/June 2015. We want to spend some time around the Kyle of Lochalsh and Ullapool. can anyone recommend any reasonably priced sites. Only requirement is that are dogs
permitted. Also want to stay around The Moray Firth.

Hi chops58, we always stay at Ardmair Point when we are up Ullapool way. Good facilities, great location and views, right on the water.

If you fancy something a bit more remote further North, we stayed at Clachtoll Beach Campsite last summer. Basic but clean facilities, very nice atmosphere, owners very helpful and again, great views.

Both site have websites.

Clachtoll needs its own fan club! highly rated. There is a site at Ullapool.  

As for the Moray Firth - loads & loads of choice. Beaches, sun, no midges - that's why. Just use the UKCS map search.  I've never known our dog prevent us from being at a good site up there.

For Kyle of Lochalsh the Cc Morvich site is good. For the Moray firth CCC Rosemarkie is a must.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

Great site, north of Ullapool.
The road into Achiltibuie is one of THE great drives in the UK.

The campsite in Ullapool is busy and can have a tremendous atmosphere at weekends and in the summer. The village has a great buzz about it at all times, not just when the ferry comes in.
The ferry boat inn is a great pub and the ceilidh place too.
Midges are a problem on the west coast regardless of where you are.
I would base myself in Ully and visit all the sites of interest then move north to Clachtoll or south to Gairloch. Again it is a great place and base from which to explore.
