Can anyone recommend a caravan site that is near Scafell Pike? We want to walk it this year and ideally would like to walk from site or not have to drive too far to reach the starting point.

That would be Keswick CCC site then, you could catch the borrow dale bus down to Seathwaite from there. Or drive down.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

Think you'll struggle to get what you want within walking distance of Scafell Pike. Most of the sites in this area only take tents and camper vans.

What route are you planning to take - you can go up from Wasdale, Langdale, Eskdale or Borrowdale ??

C&CC Eskdale site would be good, but don't take vans. You could stay at Ravenglass and take the NG railway to Eskdale, however. Link

Alternatively take the car and park at Wasdale Head (advised by mountain rescue team )Link

Thanks for all the replies. Basically I'm looking for a caravan site that is quite close to scafell pike. Don't mind driving to Wasdale Head as long as it is only a few miles away. We found a site called The Old Post Office but it seemed a bit expensive.
