The one we have just been to at Easter - Tyn Cornel Nr Bala - is right next to the White Water Rafting.  Bit thick but I'm not sure what a kayak is, they had boats were there were 6 or 7 in them and others were there was just one person in them  I have some photos of them if that helps, but not sure how to attach to the thread.

Michelle + Kev - a kayak is a small - sometimes pointy, bit of plastic one person sits inside of and paddles with something that looks like 2 oars stuck together

Lol Gamlen - We have a similar problem - family of 3 kayakers (and all the kit that goes with it), a Diablo 900 tent and a 4x4.

We can never find pitches big enough or close enough to water. We got close once in Scotland, but vehicles had to be parked in the site car park.

Wales is a no-no as that's were we go for training

Whooo brave man camping in Stockton.

The white water course is great, but as I only left the area 4 years ago it's not somewhere I'd camp ... saying that we do stay at the Travelodge there when visiting family (generally at christmas) and it's a quiet area.

If you prefer a river to a course there are loads in North Yorkshire and the dales ... Roseberry Abbey used to be good ... basic, but a nice site and very close to the river.

Went to the C & CC site at St Neots this Easter and got a pitch 10 yards from the River Ouse.

Excellent for calm water kayaking, so safe for the kids.

If you can stand the midges - try anywhere around Loch Tay, Lochearnhead, Killin, etc - In Scotland we now have access rights to most waterways (with due consideration for others, etc).  Access points are located at the lochsides and weather permitting allow pleasant paddling (if not too choppy).  Alternatively, try Loch Lomond (easy access to the water from the loch shore)

Beware - any body of water in Scotland will attract the dreaded mdige take plenty DEET!?!?!?!

This one is right on the banks of the Waveney. If you go to their website you can see they actively promote kayakers and canoeists and provide a map of the Bungay Ring (no jokes!)

The Waveney also feeds in to the Norfolk Broads - Oulton Broad in particular. Check the access before going on the Broads though.
