I don't know if Stafford is too far, but we always use Park Farm CL, about 3 miles from J14. Only has ehu though. I don't think there are any sites very close to the M6 in Cheshire, but I may well be wrong.

It seems that Gravestones CL is near the motorway, and gets good reviews on the CC website. We may give it a try sometime, have been put off by the name! It comes under Northwich.

When we travelled from Somerset to Cumbria we stopped off atTudor Park
might be a bit far down but it depends on how long you wish to travel before stopping
