try camp site search. i stay near perth and it depends which way you are coming from. there is grand eagles at authterarder south of perth just off A9.there is noahs ark just off the by pass in perth. gallowhills at kinross south of perth off m90. north of perth is 1 of my fav sites at blair atholle castle about 1 hour north of perth.
There's a C&CC site at Perth. But instead I'd press on for 20 mins to Dunkeld on your way north. Site is minutes off the A9. You don't want to be heading east towards Dundee (Errol site) when you're aiming for Assynt.
Hi Fiona, that sounds like a good idea. Is that a C&CC site at Dunkeld? We needed to pay for a min of 2 nights at the perth one as we are travelling at the weekend .
I'm going to check out sites in Dunked now (a really nice place too).x
------------- It's easier to ask forgiveness than seek permission!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
The Dunkeld one is called Inver Mill. We stop-over there for one night regularly. It's the C&CC sites that tend to insist on 2 or even 3 nights minimum. Pitlochry is next up the A9 (about an hour north of Perth) and has several sites that are OK for one night. Blair Atholl is north of Pitlochry and off the A9 - not quite "near Perth" which you asked for. We have stayed there, it does suit others fine (i.e. its reviews are very mixed), but we prefer Inver Mill.
