Hi all we are hoping to go to The Warren camp site in Folkeston in a weeks time in a medium size 4 berth motorhome , we have read reviews on this site looks great , only problem some people say the road down to site is very steep and the road very uneven some say its fine
wondered if anyone has been there and what they think about road to site .
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Not been for some years and don't remember the access road being particularly steep, though it was definitely uneven and fairly narrow (so probably why they don't take caravans I guess).
From the Camping and Caravanning Club's page: "Please note that this site is not suitable if you need to leave for an early ferry, as the site gate does not open until 7am, and there is no parking outside the site. No touring caravans on this site. Long narrow access road to site."
I don't know if this is too late for you but I've only just read your post.
I've never been to the Warren as we are caravanners and caravans are not allowed. However, a possible alternative if you decide against The Warren is Little Switzerland.
That site has easy access and is located on the cliffside above The Warren. We've stayed here a few times enroute for the ferry at Dover. It's particularly good for early morning ferry departures as it has no gate or barrier. It has a nice little cafe with stupendous views although the toilet block is bit ancient.
