I suppose they are discouraged as they use more hot water per person and who wants to get into a bath that has been used by, who knows what or who?

NOT for me, no thanks. Too squeamish.
I know some showers are 'iffy' but you can always wear some kind of footwear.

Lots of small children hate showers so a lot of campsites will have a family room now with a bath in. I know when I first took my children camping I looked out for campsites with baths as it is a lot easier to bath a small wriggly child than it is to shower a screaming one!

Sounds like fun!

I think my OH's mum used to put a paddling pool in the bottom of the shower and sit them in that. Not sure my friend would be up for that tho.

When we were planning our toilet/shower block we asked clients (a lot of UKcampsite members contributed), what they wanted & a bath was mentioned so much that that's what we did. We have a full bathroom and a Family/Disabled Shower Room. These get used by families a lot.
Not sure what part of the country you are looking for but we are in SomersetBowdens Crest

Last time we went to west fleet in Weymouth it had family bathrooms with a bath and shower in - a god send with small children who don't like showers.

Sea Barn Farm in Weymouth (end of driveway from road is West Fleet their sister site).

In the very new and flashy washblock there is a bath in the family bathroom. I think there were rules that said families before 6pm and open to others afterwards.
