Have been looking for campsites which i think look ok but after reading the reviews they all seem to be really windy and/or too commercialised. All i would like from a campsite….
Not (too)windy
Doesn't need entertainment but would need something to occupy the kids i.e. swimming pool, park ,woods/forest
Beach within 30 mins by car maximum
Electric pitch
if anyone knows of a campsite that fits them sort of requirements?!
thanks

Smytham manor is a lovely site. It has a swimming pool and a games hut and a small friendly bar. Direct access onto the Tarka trail if you like to cycle walk or if you have dogs. Surrounded by woodland. About 20 minute drive to woolacoombe area for beaches. J x

looks like a winner thanks :) feel free to tell me more about it.. I've read the reviews in here but i still have a couple of questions!
for example, i read the xmas tree field only as 2 electric pitches. can't see whereabouts they are in the field using google maps, don't suppose you know?!
thanks to all who replied

Has park, EHU, beautiful views over the river Dart (just like in their brochure on the website). Small enough for children to walk around by themselves (well we let ours go to the washblock by themselves as we could see it up the hill.
In area:
Man sands beach -10 mins - need os map to find it (or google maps)
Other beaches 15 - 20 mins
Fantastic wooden play equipment at back of Torquay beach mostly for older children - say 8 +
Crabbing at Stoke Gabriel
Steam Train - walk to the station.
avoid: whitesands nr Paignton - really not a nice site unfortunately - that's the only one ive been to in devon (usually go to cornwall) - weve booked to go to oakdown - hoping that's a bit better :) if youre not set on devon, moonfleet farm in dorset is lovely, absolutely beautiful and amazing bathroom/campers facilities, nothing else, but you can have campfires, and the kids absolutely love love love it - named as their fave campsite - no play park just a big field with a massive tree and some football goals. But the kids absolutely loved it :)
