We are going to a wedding in Gloucester later this year, and I'm looking for a site as close to the town as possible. The nearest I've found so for is a dodgy lookin CL, I'm glamming up on site so need half decent facilities. Don't want to spend a fortune on a taxi at the end of shindig.
Any little gems in your brain boxes please??

We stopped at a site called
Pelerine near Gloucester
Lovely site with good facilities not sure how close it would be to the wedding though
------------- April Peak District Beech Croft Farm
May Peak District Duke of York
May Holland Delfse Hout
June Cotton Arms Nantwich
july/aug Cornwall Pentewan Sands
And quite a few local weekenders
Briarfields motel and touring park - two miles from Cheltenham and six miles from Gloucester with frequent buses to both those towns. Is that any help?

Probably too far away for you but do not under any circumstances use The Red Lion at Norton, it is the worst site we have ever used.
I have used the Red Lion and found it all OK....The owner was a bit odd but he doesn't stay in my tent.

Its a few years since we stayed there and I do hope it is better than it was,
If you read the reviews we were not the only ones to have a terrible time with the weird owners, disgusting cold toilets/showers and the pub and staff were not much better. We were also kept awake a few nights by boats on the river fishing for elver.
I would rather stay in a layby than go back there and we told them so.
The pretty pictures of the caravans on their web site shows the season pitches, you are not allowed anywhere near them as our children found out walking through the middle of them.
