Evening All

Looking to book another weekend away, probably in June. Requirements are a bit tricky and I am looking for inspiration.

So ideally 1 hour from Manchester or less, we do not mind how close it is. However hte MIL will be coming and we have no room in the car so we need somewhere for her to get the train to.

Any suggestions?

Are you C & CC members? If so, Delamere Forest club site just outside Frodsham has a station right next to it for trains to/from Manchester

Not a C & CC member but willing to join, however the site at Delemere is far too expensive in my mind. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I have found a few more on the site search so going to give them a ring today and will report back.

Anywhere along the Hope Valley in the Peak District - lots of the sites are within walking distance of a train station.

Probably more than you'd want to pay, if Delamere is too expensive, but the nearest to Manchester is a Caravan Club site in Bury called Burrs Country park. It's only an easy 30 minutes into centre of Manchester and both it's Stations on the Metrolink. I'm a Bury resident and work in the centre of Manchester.

The Carriage House just outside Marsden. Short drive into Marsden Station and regular train service into Manchester. Also an express bus service in the area to Manchester/Huddersfield.
