Hi all we are looking to find a site that allows you to stay for six weeks for next summer. In the somerset area would be great so we can have the grand children come and stay a few times during the school holidays. I did read in one thread in the sites forum that warren farm offered this i have contacted them and they now only offer a max stay of three weeks. so if any of you guys can think of anywhere preferably in the brean area that offer this can you please let me know.

Thanks
Andy

No suggestions on sites but if you are looking to camp for an extended period of time in a tent look for places with all weather pitches or be prepared to be asked to move your tent after 6/7 days at some sites.

Many sites have a maximum night limit as part of their licensing rules and this is often 28 days so you may struggle to find somewhere that can accommodate you continuously for 6 weeks.
How about picking 2 or 3 sites in your chosen area and spend 2-3 weeks at each?

Also if you are in a tent and have a grass pitch, the site may well ask you to move to another pitch after 7 nights or so to help preserve the grass. Therefore a hard standing or all weather pitch would be better.

hi all and thanks for the tips. it looks like it will be 2 sites then as my wife is disabled and too much moving would not be good for her back. as for the all weather pitches they look great but would not feel like camping to us we prefer the real green stuff lol.
we love cornwall and devon but to be honest the journey is so stressful for my wife, i try and keep it as close to bristol as possible plus i can leave the site drive back home grab the grandchildren and be back on site within two hours. This was my main reason for my enquiry in the first place.
Thanks again to all that replied it is food for thought though.

As others have said - 28 days is usually the maximum a site license will permit. Also a tent on a pitch for 4 or 6 weeks would normally be a no go as it would kill the grass. Try phoning around a couple of sites and see what their maximums are.
