Hi - hoping someone can help (having lost the last couple of weeks looking for sites). We have recently adopted a springer spaniel and having camped the last 6 yrs want to take him with us. We are based in the midlands so want somewhere within about 3 miles max from Nottingham. Ideally we would love a beach if poss within walking distant but not essential. We also need a hook up and a pub within walking distance would be good (that accepts dog). Clean loos are a must and hopefully something for the daughter (games room or pool)? We may need to eat out a lot due to space issues in car with dog so those facilities (that take dog) would be fab. New to having a 4 legges friend and struggling....

thanks

Beach? I take it you mean 3 hours from Nottingham?

This one found on Camp Site Search might be worth considering. Never been there so you'll have to check the reviews!

Just over 3 hours (3h 20mins) according to Google Maps, but somewhere near Newborough Beach on Anglesey (North Wales). Allows dogs on one part of the beach, and it's a cracker!

Loved the doggie pubs link above and I haven't even got a dog - yet.

Thanks will check the Anglesey one. I found a nice one at Barmouth but it was already booked. Also found one nearer 4 hrs away at Bamburgh which looks great... just may be too far with the dog.

I LOVE the doggie pub link - added to my favourites already and looks like some good places if go with Bamburgh.  Thanks Alpiner!  And Owen... go get one, best thing we ever did :)

Could you manage without EHU? Not far from Barmouth is Shell Island, no hook-up (but phone charging possible), one or two "dog free" fields but plenty of pitches elsewhere. (You'd have to check if dogs are allowed in the bar.)

How about North Norfolk, just 3hrs according to Goggle. There's Serles at Hunstanton, Pinewoods at Wells, both next to a dog friendly beach or Kelling Heath at Weybourne which is a bit further from the sea but acres of heathland to walk the dog on.

Thank you so much for all the replies and suggestions. Really appreciated! We have done Kelling twice and loved it pre-dog. We have just booked Searles - big thanks Wanderer. It is more commercial than we would normally pick but has places to eat that are dog friendly plus tesco over the road, 5 mins direct access to dog friendly beach and offers pool, games etc for daughter as think we will spend a lot more time on site. Now off to check the pubs from my new fave website link ;-) xx

Hi booster
Glad to have been of assistance, enjoy your holiday but most of all enjoy your new doggy. Very envious, we are now dog less because of our circumstances and it would not be fair to have one but really miss not having a doggy compainion around.

Thanks Wanderer. We had debated having a dog for years and kept finding reasons why we couldn't. Some sad circumstances resulted in us fostering our springer for a week which has ultimately turned into us becoming his forever home. So excited at the prospect of camping with our pooch and taking him to the beach :) xx
