Campsites and Caravan Parks in the UK

Topic: Sites with good 3G (maybe even 4G)

Hi Everyone,

We are looking for a campsite(we have a caravan) which has good 3G mobile data (dare I say maybe even 4G) in England as my husband has to be able to work when we are there.

It must be a child friendly campsite(we have an 8 year old daughter), with play areas and we would like a swimming pool, would be even better if it was by the beach.

Unfortunately we cannot go to Devon or Cornwall as the drive is too far for my parents

The mobile data is a must as site WIFI is not always reliable – does anyone have any suggestions/knowledge of where we could go.

Give us a clue where abouts in England, its a big place!

Also what network are you going to be in? I often use the signal check service from EE to give me an idea if the site will have signal, and if it will be 3g

The destination needs to be max 4-5 hours from Cheshire, so probably not the very SE/SW(limitation of the other people joining us). Also family/child friendly site, play area, space to play ball and fly kites etc etc

We are coming from The Netherlands so we will purchase a prepaid data SIM of whatever provider has best coverage in the specific area. We have been using the coverage site checkers but campsites I have found all appear to be in very poor 3G and non-existent 4G. Generally EE appears to be the better provider.

The issue we have is that for my husband this is not a vacation and he must be able to work over the internet and to ensure that, 3G needs to be possible instead or alongside site wifi. Most campsites will not commit to having great connectivity/wifi.

Any ideas?

As far as site wifi is concerned it very much depends on the size of files needing to be downloaded. Most campsites I have used have been fine for e-mails and the like. As far as 4G/3G is concerned you will always get better reception near to larger towns and cities with less good reception in the countryside.

Why not try the Haven site at Marton mere Blackpool? Indoor and outdoor pool, loads of kids entertainment to keep you bust while he works, and of course your right near Blackpool!

But the best thing is, its been upgraded to Double 4G!! according to the EE postcode checker!

We have stayed here a few times, its a typically haven site, with loads to do especially for kids, nature reserve also , and as I said loads to do in Blackpool
