I have had a look round the map on here for places to stay with the tourer 2 adults 1 dog and an awning, washing machine needed and electric hook up also required. I am not a member of the caravan and camping club and cant seem to find anything suitable, I must be missing the obvious any recommendations please
Thanks
Zoe
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Living close enough how close are you trying to get to Manchester itself eg would a tram ride away from city be ok or even train trip 25 minutes somewhere Cheshire way you can even get to Chester as quick As an example Delamere forest is camping and caravan but is not a wholly owned site so accepts non members in the heart of Cheshire. There is actually three sites all close by
Delamere Forest Camping and Caravanning Club Site
Fishpool Farm Caravan Park
Lady Heyes Park
All app 30 minutes train into Manchester and the station being 4 minutes walk from campsite and its around 25 minutes to Chester Driving to both is easy but generally cheaper to go to say Altrincham and take the metro tram than pay for parking in city, same can be said for Chester. Liverpool also 25 minutes. plenty of walks its a massive forest area. Shops nearby in Northwich free parking.

There's a new site opened at Newhey, listed on here, sounds very nice. Maybe a call to them will answer some of your questions?
It is right next to the main road, but driving past it looks nice. Lots of walks from the site . Half a mile down the road is a team station, takes you into Rochdale, Oldham or Manchester, trams every 12 mins and just over half an hour into Manchester on them ( no dogs on the trams though ) some small shops in Newhey, more including Tesco Express in Milnrow, others a little further away in Shaw. A trip into Rochdale will get you anything you require.
It is just over the hill from us ( about a mile as the crow flies )

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Thanks guys for your posts I have booked Piethorne Valley Newhey as recommended by Franbee, a little far from where we need to be but we have the car so can travel, Especially grateful for the info regarding the trams and transport into Manchester Bill, very grateful indeed, thanks again

I am planning on (shoot me now, my husband rolls his eyes) the coronation street tour and the science and industry museum (keeps him indoors happy then) so a trip on the tram seems rather an exciting way of getting into manchester Bill.

The tram is great, and should drop you right on the doorstep for both those places. We go in regularly, just show our bus passes if we ever come across an inspector ( not very often ). There is a car park for the station right next to it. The MOSI needs several days all to itself.

The trams are not running through Manchester at the mo' as they are building a new station at St Peter's Square. So to get to the MOSI you either need to get off at Victoria and walk, about a mile along Deansgate, or get the free Metroshuttle bus, if you can work it out! Or continue on the tram to Piccadilly and get the replacement bus for your onward journey.
And do bear in mind that o60 passes are valid on buses, but not trains or tram unless you are a local. You can buy a day saver for the tram at the ticket machine at the tram stops. Weekday off peak starts at 9.30 am.
