Just decided to try and go away end July / first week of August but on a massively tight budget. Got e writhing we need (trailer tent and all accessories) just need somewhere cheap to pitch. Any recommendations? 2 adults + 2 kids but no need for club houses etc just a shower and toilet (+ehu) will do! TIA
Ps live on Shropshire / n Wales border so nothing in that area please but open to any suggestions otherwise

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
You could join the camping and caravanning club, cost about £40 that opens up 100s of possibilities to stay on CS sites that cost from £10 to £15 a night. Most larger sites will be well over £20 a night in school hols, some even £50 if you add on kids and dogs.

Do you fancy Norfolk? Sites there seem to be cheaper than the South Coast. There is plenty to do and lots of places to visit.
Interesting because I have found the complete opposite! South Coast seems to be cheaper to me, I presume because there is more competition.
OP - can you pin down a destination at all? There are loads of reasonably priced sites all over the country and you don't necessarily need to be a club member to find sites in the £10-£15 bracket.

Bureside in Norfolk is £15 a night but you'll pay extra for leccy and kids.
We stayed at Wellhouse farm near Newcastle last week and that was £12 for two adults no leccy.
------------- June 2015: seaview international 2 nights
July 2015: little winnick 2 nights
August 2015: lower polladras 5 nights
august 2015: tollgate farm 5 nights
august 2015: oakdown 3 nights
September 2015: tregarton park
family of 6 with young children
You also have to think about what you might end up spending on activities. For instance there's a very cheap campsite called Cross Farm in the Midlands, but it's quite near Alton Towers and you might get sucked in there.
In contrast, there's Red Bank Farm at Bolton le Sands, where you will pay £20 per night without EHU, but there is loads of free things to do, it is a working farm on Morecambe Bay, you can play on the shore, or if you drive (or walk) to Happy Mount Park in Morecambe, there's a fantastic free play area in a field at the back, and you can often park for free there too if you look round. The beach at that end of Morecambe has nothing to spend money on either. Shops nearby if you need snacks.
