A bit more information would be useful.
What is your start time? This can give an indication as to how far you may get before sites offices close down. Don't forget, motorways are always busy on a Friday afternoon.
Are you a member of any of the main clubs? This opens up the choice as you can use either a cl or cs type site.
Your journey is about 280 miles depending on where your destination is. So 140 miles, half way, in one go could take between 2 1/2 to 3hrs without stops.

Warwick Racecourse. In town so plenty of pubs, shops, castle etc.
Handy for M40, A34, M3 down to New Forest.
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.

As the previous post says, Warwick racecourse, its slightly over half way but you should be there before 6pm. Straight out onto the M40 when you leave.

Oops, hit the post button too soon.
Yes, it's a CC site with all the usual facilities, and is just a short walk into town centre.

Ok thanks for that does it have a toilet block etc
You will get full details in the club handbook including directions.
You may also want to consider this route.
A1 to Newark, A46 to Leicester, M1/M69 to Coventry then A46 to Warwick.
It will save you the Friday night madness of the M1 in Nottinghamshire.
Enjoy the New Forest.
