Hi looking for a campsite this weekend for 1 night which is within 1 hour - 1.5 hour from Manchester which has a river for the children to play. It can be a basic site as its for a lads and dads trip. Can anyone recommend somewhere suitable?

Right on the banks of the Severn.

C&CC at Clitheroe next to the river and if weather not to good the leisure centre is just across the road. Plus its walkable in to Clitheroe or you can catch the bus.

Hi

Used to be a site at Hulme End, Hartington Derbyshire.

Farmer widened the river and made safe for kids to play in it. We took canoes etc for our kids to play in for years, think the site is still open and oppisite a pub

Thanks for the replies Hulme End sounds perfect :) we did try the one in Clitheroe but it was fully booked unfortunately as its just 1 night we are looking for this weekend.

Dol Llys Farm is too far as 2hrs 35 min drive for us and only looking for 1 night, thanks for the suggestion though.
