Sorry, should that be at least 100 miles away from Blackpool? Surely!
The only one I can comment on personally is Great Birchwood which is about 7 miles away from the South Shore. Near the main road between Preston and Blackpool near Lytham St Annes, which is far nicer. Great if you like line dancing, also does a busy car boot!

For BLackpool I would recommend the Caravan Club's BLackpool South site, but it is members only. The other I have used and would recommend is Eastham Hall at Lytham..
I have visited one mentioned earlier, at BIrchwood Country Park but only for a look around. Would not recommend it, check out the reviews.

We like the Blackpool CC site but we have found a CL on the road to Lytham. Not far from the CC main site. We use this now. They are service pitches too, a bit primitive but serves the purpose well. Best to check it out on Google and Google Earth.
Hampton Road Social club, have pitches and is within easy walking distance to the pleasure beach and all the attractions.
Or if you´re in the c&cc see if theres a THS on at south shore cricket club, which is next to the airport.

A short drive/ride from Blackpool. We were here this year in March. Bus stop outside, we got a day pass on the bus to go to Blackpool, then we used it on the trams so no need to take your car which saves parking charges. The site has electric hookup, free showers, big hardstandings each has tap and waste so you can hook your water and waste up, pub a mile away. We will definitely be back.

------------- a tent, folding camper and 6 caravans later ... June
Hi I live in Blackpool and I would have suggested either the Caravan Club site or Hampton Road site the later being in Blackpool no need to use the car. A five mins walk to the Prom. Close to shops, pubs and cafes. Beechwood Caravan Site is quiet a long bus ride from Blackpool on the number 14 bus which take you into Blackpool Center or to Fleetwood in the other direction. Caravan Club Site not on a bus route hope this helps.
A lot of the sites in and around Blackpool don't take tents so it depends what set up you have. My daughter has been to High Bank Farm a couple of times with her tent and speaks very highly of it.
