We are going to North Wales in October and looking to make an overnight stop to break the journey. We are looking somewhere between M54 Telford area and A5 Shrewsbury.
Can anyone recommend any good sites en route that won't take us far off the motorway?
We will only want sites with Hardstanding and Electric hookup.
Thanks.

Are you Caravan Club members? there is Streetway House CL, near Gailey on the A5, if it hasn't been sold, or White Pump Farm, a small independent site a bit further along the same stretch of road. No hardstandings though, but both are well drained.
Thanks Anne, but was thinking of either a club site or commercial , we don't really mind. We are members of both clubs, was really wanting hard standing as expecting it to be quite wet in October, also we are going with friends and we both have twin axle vans so want to avoid grass.
look at the details for Streetway House on the CC website, it says there is a hardstanding area (but don't know if there is only one). Otherwise there is Salop Leisure which is near the A5 at Shrewsbury and does have hardstandings but not a great review on here. We have stayed at Streetway and it was fine. Nothing else around near your route I don't think, unless you want to go as far as Oswestry.
Where in North Wales are you going? If to Llanberis for instance, Viamichelin says to use the M6, there is a CL near Stafford, Park Farm, which has hardstanding, we have used it in winter several times.
Not sure of any sites around Telford near the M54 but there are plenty not far off the A5 around Shrewsbury. Cartref, Oxon touring park, Wingfield Arms are just a few of the closest to the A5 off the top of my head. Journey time from Telford to Shrewsbury is around 20/25 minutes traffic allowing.

Yes, saw that. The reason wht I asked is that perhaps they would be better going up the M6 and then onto the the A55 and A5 to Betwys from the north? Not that I know what the A5 there is like for towing.
Thanks for all the replies, have looked at all the suggestions.
The one that fits the bill perfectly and going to book is Oxon Touring Park just half a mile off the A5 , suggested by Phil Ness.
Something to be aware of are overnight closures on sections of the A5 around Shrewsbury, from "Dobbies island" ( the one with the garden centre and services on, A5/A49) to "Churncote island" (the island for Welshpool and the one for Oxon A5/A483) until the beginning of November for resurfacing works. The closures are effective from 8pm to 6am, the section closed can be the entire roundabout or just the carriageway between them. They are currently about halfway through the works, and are working towards Dobbies. Local diversions are signposted during these times.
If you are planning on travelling during these times it shouldn't be an issue and will add very little to your journey time. Just thought you might like a heads up.
