Hi we are looking to go to Cornwall for the first time next year please and we would also appreciate recommendations. My kids are 12 and 8 so we like picturesque location so but need to compromise on size of site as kids will be 12 and 8 so they would like to be able to make friends and hang out - eg. Park, area to play football or similar is helpful. Don't mind if site has pub/entertainment/ can take a bit of liveliness as long as it's not too tacky - hope that makes sense!. We are planning to bring our well behaved lab with us but are a little worried about how restrictive that might be? Hoping to do body boarding so a a site near a dog friendly / surf beach would be good? Want to visit Eden project and do some off road cycling don't mind driving further for things like this. Hoping to stay for 3 weeks. But probably want to base ourselves at 1 site and make day trips rather than have to pitch the tent twice! Thoughts and suggestions are welcome thanks!

Hi There
We went to cornwall in August to a site called ST Tinney, lovely site very dog friendly,we took our lab with us.
There is a small play area for kids a outdoor heated swimming pool and as a pub on site were they do some lovely meals.
Its located not far from Bude and there are loads of dog friendly beaches in the area where you can body board.
My suggestion is for Stowford Farm Meadows in Devon nr Ilfracombe.
The site has plenty for the kids to do, large spaces for tents/caravans and is extremely dog friendly - even having dog kennelling services for when you cant take your furry friend with you.
It is 5/10 mins away from Woolacombe beach which is not only excellent for body boarding but is dog friendly as well.
Has entertainment, pub - in which furry friends are welcome, restaurant, takeaway, shop, swimming pool and plenty of other things to do BUT it never gets loud and certainly doesn't feel crowded.
We stayed there this year, and last, and travelled to Eden Project this year so it can be done.
Caravan Club site at Looe is fantastic. Great for kids, lovely shower block and a swimming pool. If you're taking the Camplet, they don't take tents though.

We've been to Cornwall last 3 years as our 2 week holiday. Newquay is very dog friendly - we found fistral, perranporth, watergate bay and Morgan porth good beaches for body boarding and allow dogs. St Ives is less dog friendly for surf beaches, but you can drive to Mexican towans that is. The sites we stayed at were watergate bay (once) and Polmanter (twice) - both would fit your needs. Both nice, but we preferred the latter although it is more expensive. We have kenneled our dog for a day in the past to visit a non dog friendly place - but not done so in Cornwall.
We go to Gwithian farm a fair bit , a quick walk over the dunes to a great beach for bodyboarding, part of which is dog friendly. There isn't really anything on site, to entertain the kids , but they will make friends as quite often an impromptu game of football starts up in the centre of the main field.
There is a great pub just outside the gate and another a short walk along the beach.
Also various catering trucks turn up on site on different nights as well as a visiting fishmonger
The site has immaculate toilets and a small shop on site
