The slope is to let some of the rain drain away.

After our holiday in North Devon this year back in June, I will tend to agree, never seen rain and wind like it!
Sorry can't help with your question, we did drive past it though.

Our boys have taken their families to North Morte Farm Camping and caravanning site near Woolacombe. It is on the UKCampsite listing with reviews.
Sorry I don't know how to do a link!

North Morte Farm is our favourite site in North Devon.it has a spectacular camping field overlooking the sea. The tourer section is relatively small but handy for the South West coast path.

We stayed in the rally field about 5 years ago. We had EHU and use of everything. We had to pay for the pets part but it wasn't expensive. We didn't use the swimming pool. It was a fair walk to ablution blocks but if you needed to you could have your own toilet tent on your pitch. It was very quiet where we were and although the field did slope a bit the pitches were flat. We hope to go again this year, through the C&CC again because its far cheaper.
I think we were very high up because one morning we were shrouded in dark clouds and it was amazing to watch them gradually moving off.
