Hi All, I was hoping for some advice. My boyfriend and I recently got engaged (wohoo) and our planning our special day. We want to make it unique to us and our loves, one of which is camping. We are looking for somewhere that would be great for wedding, amazing views and use of barn, or space for marquee if not. We are thinking of a blessing outdoors so no need for licence etc. If anyone has any good recommendations would be great to hear from you x

Hello.I'm sure you'll get lots of good ideas, but we need to know what area you are looking at, and an idea of the date, as some places won't be available out of season.
Oh yes, that would be helpful Wouldn't it!!! We are based in Staffordshire so would be interested this area, or surrounding County's. Alternatively my family are Oxfordshire way so would be happy around that area too. Basically we are not too fussy on the location if the place is right!! Timewise we were thinking August 2017, again roughly!! Hope that's helpful x
This could very well be too far for you and your guests to travel but if you could do the distance then Camusdarach camp site in the western Highlands might suit. They have self-catering accommodation as well as the camp site and you can get married on the beach - and believe me the location and scenery are stunning.

Wow tigermouse what a stunning location. As beautiful as it is I think it would be a little too far for some of our guests. Hopefully we will come visit sometime soon though. Looks spectacular! X
I know that Rivendale campsite in The Peak district do weddings. They have their own bar and restaurant, self catering accommodation, yurts, pods as well as camping and caravanning. Its a great location not far from you and pretty much adjacent to The Tissington trail.
Hi lehedges, congratulations on getting engaged. I guess you've just joined (3 posts, no site reviews) and your question crops up regularly. If you do a Search (it's beside the Log Off button), you may find some more ideas from past threads. I'm too far north to help, but in Scotland it's the person officiating that has the licence (not the place) so you could get married on top of Ben Nevis if you wanted - and could find someone to do it. Friends got married on a beach on Islay, she had wellies on beneath her gown. Your day will be as special as your imagination allows - do some wild dreaming and don't feel you have to do something just because everyone else does.
Congratulations. You could always do what we do and get married on Calgary Beach on Mull. Plenty of accommodation of various sorts within 40 minutes' drive. And you have time to plan ahead and get good prices.

Take a look at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire. The castle is a wedding venue in it's own right and very scenic, there i ample camping in their deer park - Just across the road. They are used to organising rallies and events and I am sure they could help with any additional logistics and facilities if required.
------------- It's only an expensive hobby when it's parked on your Drive....use it, love it , live it.
My daughter is currently arranging her wedding for next August and has booked her local village hall, near Malvern, for their blessing and reception, and included in the price is the use of their field for camping and caravanning.
It might be worth looking at that sort of thing in the areas you want. You could also look at sports clubs as I know we have been at a Rally at a rugby club near Worthing.
