We are having a week away at the beginning of December.
First 4 days in Cambridge.
We need some ideas where to go for a 3 nighter preferably on or near our route home which is A1 north to Wetherby or could cut across to M1 north to Leeds.
Needs to be open!
Can be either of the clubs sites.
A good CL/S
Something to do or places to visit.
Like cycling but possibly too cold.
So any ideas greatly appreciated. J x

Thanks but that is more or less home for us. Was thinking about 100 miles south. Looking around Rutland water or lincoln but open to other suggestions.
Lincoln is lovely if you have not been there, you could visit the coast as well, maybe go to see the seals at Donna Nook. Don't know about sites, it's a long time since we stayed there but there is bound to be a good choice. There are 2 pages of sites around Lincoln on here, including some nice sounding CLs/CSs, some on a cycle route. There is also a Christmas Market.

We love St Neots C&CC club site.
It's our favourite site.
Only 2 miles from A1.
Lovely big park just other side of the river.
Cafe in the park.
15 min walk into St Neots town which has Waitrose/Coop but independent shops too.
Thanks for your replies. I did look at St Neots but it will be closed. Lincoln is a good idea. Had thought about woodall spa as we like the Kinema in the woods. J x
Thanks for your replies. The site at Greetham is top of my list but hubby just said he has got a map coming for Sandringham which is not exactly on way home. Is there much to do around there. Never been. Jx
Sandringham area is lovely good for cycling Norfolk beaches are lovely. We stay at Barleywoods which is Adult only site but it is nearer to Wells next the sea
Hartsholme country park near Lincoln. Open whilst the Christmas market is on. Country park nice for a cycle, also you can apparently cycle into Lincoln - when we stayed we were leaving so moved the van to a car park outside the town.

How about Teversal C&CC site best toilet block I have ever seen, good pub down the road, loads of walks in the area and several EH and NT properties (not all open right now but some are)
