Thinking of going in May never been. Can anyone recommend a nice site don't need swimming pool or entertainment.

When we went about 18 months ago we used the CC Southlands site which was very nice.

Do visit the Island, it is beautiful and lots of different places to visit. Ccc site at the back of Sandown gives great access to country and town and beach walks including along the old railway track. I hear Ninian also good.Would agree Southlands cc site at Newchurch worth visiting with good pub closeby.

Have just checked Isle of Wight ferry prices for our dates = £197.

Our ferry crossing Dover/Dunkerque for the same dates and times = £124

This might explain why we spend nearly all our time on the continent.

Hopefully some of you rich people will leave wonderful reviews of the IOW so that I can pretend I have been there.

Consider Riverside Paddock. One of the best CS/CL type sites I know.

Also consider Tesco Coupons for ferry crossing.

Southlands we went in August fantastic in one word got quite a saving too on the crossing by booking through the caravan club earlier you book the more you will save

Hi , we live on the isle of wight and our favourite campsite is grange farm on the south west coast of the island but as it is next to the sea it can be very windy and would recommend a steel poled tent type if using a tent

The Isle of Wight is lovely, has an olde world charm, but agree, the ferries are over priced.

Who was your ferry with? we have been on all 3 vehicle crossings and like them all.
