In many posts I have sung the praises of N.E. Scotland, often to people who think that SCotland only has a West coast!
Well, here's one to look out for next season. Greenwood Loch will be a 200 acre holiday park catering for Touring vans, tents, chalets and statics (private and rented).
There will be two small lakes for adventure activities such as sailing and raft building, a field for archery and woodland paths for walking or pony trekking. There are plans to add an indoor pool, restaurant/bar, games room etc...
The site is at Fisherie, about 6 miles East of Banff, and historically, near the site of the old parish workhouse! It's also on the same road as 'Gamrie Bay CL'.
It's not my kind of site, but it should be a good boost for tourism in the area. Good beaches, dolphin watching etc.. nearby and for golfers, there are at least 5 courses within easy driving distance (by car that is).
