Just discovered Castle Camping CS at Mow Cop, sounds like our sort of place, so want to go there before/during Easter and to Topley Head Farm, 3 miles east of Buxton afterwards (travelling to Buxton on the Tuesday after Easter, probably, to avoid the hordes). Any advice on the best towing route? No problems with getting to Mow Cop or getting home; the in between bit is only about 25 miles but sounds a bit difficult.

Hi
Head from mow cop towards Hanley and pick up leek new road aka A53 this road then takes you straight into leek and onto Buxton
We can see mow cop castle from our bedroom window about 3 miles away
You'd probably drive through biddulph into chell then across high lane onto town road the A53 runs under this and there is a slip road to join near burslem cemetery
When I get home I will give you a more detailed route

Hi again Mrs bonce
I've got castle camping being on
Congleton road
If you head towards mow cop it should run into Mow Cop road
There's a left turn not sure if it will be the first or second left turn
Take the left turn into Church lane this then runs into Sands road then into High street then into Chapel lane then onto Turnhurst road sound complicated but it's actually only one road about 2 miles long
Just stay on this road
Go straight over the first roundabout when you come to the next big roundabout take the first exit on the left
You will then drive uphill to another roundabout
Take the 3rd exit this will take you onto the B5049 high lane
Stay on high lane for about 2-3 miles you come to a series of 3 roundabouts
These used to be a right pain if you didn't know them but they've been redesigned recently
So you need to enter the first roundabout in the left hand lane
Again go straight ahead second exit you will be at the second roundabout hopefully still in the left hand lane again go straight on second exit
You will now be at the 3rd roundabout still in the left hand lane
Again go straight on second exit this will now take you back onto the B5049 Hanley road
Carry on this road for about a mile you should have a cemetery on your right
You will pass a pub called the green star on your left then just after there is a social club still on the left
After the social club take your second left onto the A53 leek new road
Stay on this road until you come into Leek once in leek you'll need to go straight through the first big set of lights then at the second set of lights be in the right lane to turn right onto the A523 this for some reason runs back into the A53 Buxton road this will take you straight into Buxton passing some lovely scenery on the way
You will also pass Blackshaw moor CC
All in all traffic permitting it should only take you around an hour and a bit taking it steady
It sounds confusing when typing it and reading it but it's quite an easy route
There's a couple of steep hills on the way just between leek and Buxton but it's called the Peak District for a reason lol
Enjoy and if I can help with anything else just give us a shout

We went from Buxton to Mow Cop a couple of years ago, (can't remember the exact route off hand but sounds like the one given above) and it was fine towing our 6.3 m van.
